AFFF Day One

The Australian Free Flight Festival is a different format of competion. All of the flying is open distance utilizing the online contest point system to rank flights. It is a 4 day meet with the best 3 scores counting in your total placing. Today was very windy with some pretty extreme gusts. When I close my eyes freight trains come to mind. My attention was more focused on glider tweaking so I just took a short flight out into the valley. I was suprised at how rough the edges were and how broken up the lift was. I think I am the girlie man around here because not many other guys admit to finding the air overly rough.

Blue skies and really high temperatures ruled the day. I don't ever remember it getting this hot up here in the high country.
