Canoa Ridge Racing

Today was the first racing task here. The winds look like they will be a little light so we are hitting the turnpoints with a much larger turnpoint radii. From launch we race north to within 1k of an antenna before bolting south to within 2.6k of the other antenna. Back to the north to complete a lap. Two laps equals 48k, but not really when you subtract the turpoint radii.

We wait for the start over launch because it is the highest part of the ridge. Luck/timing gets me a couple hundred feet higher then the other guys so I go into the start with a lead. I am not sure how aggresive we can race the ridge or exactly how high we need to be to cross the broadest gaps like the river. The other guys get close but I just stay a little ahead and higher. Late in the first lap Dusto and I break away from the other guys and race very hard to the bitter end. Actually crossing goal and clearing the obstacles proved to challenge us both. We wanted to push hard to the end. Dusto had some troubles with his GPS and needed his mark enters to prove his course. As a result several second difference in finish time turned into about 20 seconds. We went one two with Raul a few minutes back. Mike landed short racing too hard around the south turnpoint. That makes it 1, 2, 3 for Wills Wing and their T2´s.
